      ‘Breathe…’ is a Christian retreat for school classroom teachers and teaching assistants, which includes music, ministry and massage. Held during February half term, the retreat provides a calm, reflective and refreshing setting for teachers to off-load halfway through the academic year and re-charge mentally and spiritually. The retreat aims to encourage and revive those teachers who face challenging workloads and/or people in their places of work this year, and help individuals refocus on their ministry/vocation ideals. It is facilitated by Louise Isaac (a teacher of many years’ experience), who will share clear and encouraging presentations of the word, relevant stories and audio-visuals - all uplifting and God-inspired.

      During this 3-day workshop, you will learn how to use the copper foil stained glass technique (also known as the Tiffany technique) to make a beautiful stained glass panel, which can hang in a window or on a wall. You will learn how to cut stained glass using a template pattern of your choice, grind the edges to enable you to apply copper foil, and then solder everything together. This is a taster workshop for beginners with plenty of time for individual learning, tuition and discussion. You will have the opportunity to make two items, a small suncatcher to practice on, and then your larger masterpiece.

      Join staff member Jay Ashworth and local volunteer Mike Scarlett as they lead a nature walk around the beautiful grounds here at Ashburnham Place. Find out how the history of the grounds has influenced the wildlife we now encounter. Come and find out what birds we can hear and see, look out for wildlife in the woods and find out about the majestic trees that make up our historic woodland. The walk will finish with lunch in the house and a chance to discuss what we have seen during the morning. Please bring binoculars if you have them and wear sturdy shoes or boots.
