23rd August 2010: Jubilee Festival 23rd to 27th August

Jubilee Festival   23rd – 27th August 2010

Dear Friends
We are getting very excited about the plans for our Jubilee Festival in August. We would like to extend a personal invitation to you to join us for what will be a very significant week in the life of Ashburnham Christian Trust.
Malcolm Duncan, who has just been appointed as Senior Pastor at Gold Hill Baptist Church, is going to help us explore together the theme of Transforming Community Radiating Christ as Ashburnham Christian Trust moves into its second fifty years.
This week will involve all who attend, including current staff and volunteers, as well as guests and former staff, journeying together as each of these four key words are unpacked day by day. Malcolm will introduce each theme at 8pm each evening in the marquee proceeded by a time of worship and further develop the theme each afternoon at 3pm (8am by the lake on Friday).
Alongside these sessions there will be opportunities to reflect through Listening Walks in the Grounds, Creative Space, the Prayer Room, Adventure Plus (outdoor activities) and Dialogue Times in the Marquee, as well as plenty of time to rest and relax alone or with friends.
We know that for many this is going to be a great opportunity for reunions as different generations of Ashburnham staff, volunteers, partners and users gather together. We look forward to your contribution and insight as we spend this week together.
Although there is no formal children’s programme we hope that families will enjoy the space offered by the programme as well as joining in some of the Adventure Plus activities. The Nursery will be available for those wishing to use it, though we would remind you that you must provide supervision at all times.
Under our Jubilee scheme bookings can be made giving a 25% deposit. Guests can then choose how much more to give once they have arrived. There are a range of options from camping and self-catering to en-suite fully catered.   Do note that in order to include staff and volunteers fully in this event that we will be offering a simpler menu than that used for regular groups.   (Sample prices: £200 per person full board, £225 per person en-suite, £100 per person camping with all meals, £35 per person camping only, day visitors £100 per person with meals or £35 without meals).
The Jubilee Festival begins on Monday with evening meal at 6pm and ends with a final session and breakfast by the lake on Friday morning. To book please contact Louie Watts – Louie@ashburnham.org.uk / 01424 894239, or booking form can be downloaded from here.
We do hope you can join us in person, however if you are unable to come we do hope that you will be able to stand with us in prayer for this significant gathering.
May God richly bless you,

Andrew Wooding Jones
Resident Director
