Our church weekend was the best we have had for years. The location, the facilities and the staff were outstanding. We can't wait to come back next year.

To all our faithful Ashburnham Place/ Orangery Tea Room guests.

We want to thank you for your financial contribution of £5 at the gate these last few months. It has really helped us financially at what is a very challenging time in our history. It has also helped us control the numbers on-site over a very busy summer period when the risk of Covid transmission is still high. We know that the vast majority of you were very happy to contribute £5 to help us but we feel it's important that for most of the year you are free to enter Ashburnham Place without charge.

For this reason, we will be removing the entry fee from Tuesday 1st of September. For those of you who have seen it as an easy way to support us into the future, we will soon be launching an Ashburnham Place membership scheme which will afford you the opportunity to help us again, and get a few added extras! Thanks again for your love and support during this testing time for us all. We look forward to welcoming you again soon"

In the summer of 2013 The Orangery Tea Room was established serving the highest quality teas and coffees alongside fresh, locally sourced food. The spectacular Orangery, designed in 1777 by Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown, houses delicate plants of many kinds including the oldest camellia in the country. The Tea Rooms are open to the public and guests can make use of the Tea Room at any point during their stay.

We only allow guide dogs/assistance dogs onsite, as our grounds are designated as a site of special scientific interest (SSSI) and we do not allow dogs in the grounds due to this.

  • Please find a table and order at the counter when you are ready
  • Delicious locally sourced food and drink

“Lovely surroundings. Great for lunch or tea and cake. It's great to walk round the grounds as well. The orangery is very well run. I would highly recommend it.”
