September 12, 2023 @ 12:00 pm - September 14, 2023 @ 3:00 pm

“Reconnecting to the divine in nature” Feeling nature deprived? Struggling to be hopeful in the midst of the ecological crisis?

Reconnecting to the divine in nature (ACT760 )

Tuesday 12th September 12 noon – Thursday 14th September 3pm

Led by Mike Mullins

Struggling to do church as normal in the midst of the unprecedented ecological crisis?

“Reconnecting to the divine in nature” is a retreat geared at Christians enquiring into the place of nature, creation and eco-spirituality in their faith. To help retreatants develop a deeper connection to and love for the sacredness of nature as an expression of the divine. The retreat will immerse retreatants in God’s creation – slowing us down to natures pace. Providing time for reflection, meditation, prayer and stillness inspired by nature. It will draw upon the Bible, the principles of Joanna Macy’s “Active Hope”, as well as evolutionary biology and the science of the history of the earth.

Feedback from past retreatants:

“A massive thanks for the weekend. It really was a healing experience.”

“Rediscovering the awe and wonder of nature. Finding God in nature and the nature of God”

The retreat will be lead by Mike Mullins, of Soul Rewilding, www.soulrewilding.co.uk,

Soul Rewilding was founded in response to the climate and ecological crisis the earth faces. A collective of like minded Christians, Soul Rewilding believes the environmental crisis is at heart a spiritual crisis. We believe we need to relearn a new humility and Christian spirituality that reconnects us to the sacredness of the earth and all other than human life. Soul Rewilding has a fourfold purpose. To enable people to:

• Reconnect to the sacredness of nature through spiritual practice. To see God in all nature

• To honestly face the environmental crisis with hope, courage and a sense of personal agency

• Become part of a wider movement for positive regenerative change in our society

• Learn to know, honour and protect mother earth, allowing all life to flourish.
