This year's CatalystGO teams are getting ready!

About the projects

Hillfield

This year our volunteers will be heading West to spend five days serving at Hilfield Friary in Dorset – a Franciscan community passionate about sustainability and conservation. There’ll be vegetables to plant, livestock to tend to, and the opportunity to experience a more monastic mode of living.

Greenwood

During the month of April, a group of adventurous volunteers are due to set out on an expedition to the remote wilds of Western Scotland to serve the newly established Greenwood Retreat Centre. Located on the beautiful Ardnamurchan Peninsula, this fledgling abbey-like church community, is situated on 70 acres of land, most of which is protected as an area of special scientific interest as part of the Caledonian Rainforest. An ancient well, attributed to St Columba, flows on the land and is helping to shape and inform the gospel work that goes on. Help support our volunteers as they spend time working on the land – clearing footpaths and building foot bridges – and supporting communal prayer and worship.

Betel

Support this team to ‘rebuild broken lives’ of people who have struggled with addiction. Betel is an incredible Christian community who have seen 1000s of men and women’s lives restored. The team will serve within the men’s and women’s houses, staying alongside them in their recovery process.

They will also be helping with their gardening, tearoom and conference centre businesses and leading their devotionals.

We need your help!

What is CatalystGo?

As part of the Catalyst volunteering program, we will have several ‘mission trips’ that Catalyst volunteers can apply to partake in once they are here.

Our trips include serving at Betel in Birmingham; a drug and alcohol addiction recovery community; Hillfield Friary – a Franciscan community passionate about sustainability and conservation in Dorset and Greenwood retreat; the site of where a fledgling abby-like church plant is being established in the highlands of Scotland.
