DESCRIPTION:A space to slow down\, be still\, and notice – to listen to your soul\, to nature\, to friend and stranger\, and to the Divine within and beyond.\n\n\n  \nAt The Threshold (ACT881) \nTues 19th – Fri 22nd January 2027 \nLed by Anna Robinson \nWinter begins the Celtic calendar\, from November 1st to January 31st. It is a time of stillness\, reflection\, quiet beginnings\, rest and renewal. February 1st marks the turning towards spring\, celebrated through both Imbolc and St Brigid’s Day. The light is returning\, and the first snowdrops\, daffodil shoots and primrose leaves signal the gradual stirring of new life. We are at a threshold: winter still holds us in its grip\, yet there is the promise of spring. We find ourselves in at a seasonal threshold\, of not fully winter but not fully Spring and this is a liminal\, in-between space. \nThis retreat draws on the theme of thresholds\, those places and moments where one thing is ending and another is beginning and the gap between. Thresholds can be places of uncertainty\, disorientation\, invitation and possibility. On this retreat\, we will pay attention to the thresholds we may be experiencing\, taking a pause to notice\, reflect and perhaps loosen our grip on what we thought we knew and making space for something new to emerge. \nThe retreat is designed for those on a faith-shifting or evolving faith journey – those who may no longer fit where they once belonged\, whether spiritually\, religiously or institutionally\, or who find themselves in a liminal space\, moving from certainty towards mystery. It offers an opportunity to slow down\, take care\, be still and notice: to listen to the longings of your soul\, draw on nature and the wild (the first Bible in the Celtic tradition) and listen to friend and stranger\, as well as to the Divine within yourself and beyond you. \nWe will draw on the beautiful grounds at Ashburnham Place\, exploring the theme of thresholds and the story of Brigid as a threshold figure in the Celtic imagination. \nHosted by Anna Robinson\, one of the hosts of the Nomad Podcast and curator of monthly meditations\, and LiveLight|DwellDeep founder\, where she facilitates discussion groups\, online mini-retreats throughout the year\, and in-person contemplative retreats for reflection\, connection\, exploration\, and rest.
