Ashburnham Place is looking to appoint a positive and dynamic, experienced, and creative individual to join the team at Ashburnham Place as Sous Chef for six months. The role involves supporting the Executive Chef to develop and deliver the food in both the main house and The Orangery. We are looking for someone that has a passion for working with food, particularly with an interest in locally sourced and seasonal ingredients and working with our kitchen garden team who grow especially for us.

A keen attention to detail and a desire to always be looking to improve your own knowledge and experience as well as helping to continually improve all aspects of the food offering at Ashburnham.

The candidate must be self-motivated and driven with the ability to run the kitchen in the absence of Executive or Head chef, adhere to and maintain Health & Safety, EHO and HACCP standards and procedures.

The role requires that you will have the ability to work with and train a willing team of volunteers, this can be challenging and rewarding in equal measure, but patience is key.

A can-do attitude is essential.

The role is a 6 month contract. The role is 40 hours per week with salary dependent on experience. Weekend and evening work will be required. Accommodation maybe available.
