Coach House Manager

The Ashburnham Christian Trust is looking to appoint a pioneering and hospitable couple/individual to take on the management of the Coach House in Bexhill-on-Sea. As the Coach House enters an exciting new season we are looking for a visionary manager(s) to establish a place of prayer, sanctuary and strategic resource. The candidate(s) will need to be naturally hospitable, able to relate and work well with a range of partners and to lead a small retreat centre with a rhythm of prayer and shared meals. The Coach House will serve its most local community as well as guests and groups from across the world. The challenge of ensuring the sustainability of the Coach House will attract someone with an entrepreneurial mindset.

The position is a ‘live-in’ role and comes with a 2 bedroomed flat with all utilities and council tax bills covered. The starting point for the first year salary will be £20,000 per annum.

Catering Supervisor

An opportunity has become available for an enthusiastic and experienced individual to join the team at Ashburnham Place as a Catering Supervisor.

The role involves leading a food service team whilst on duty to deliver food and beverages served to our guests and community members. We are looking for someone that has a passion for working with food, an attention for detail and a desire to lead and motivate a volunteer team whilst on duty. The role also involves Duty Management and being on an out of hours on call rota.

The candidate will have some experience of a similar high volume establishment.

The role is 40 hours per week and includes evenings and weekends. Salary details available on request. This is a fixed term role for 36 months. This is a live in position with a shared flat available including all utility bills.

If you love being in the walled Kitchen Garden at Ashburnham Place and would like to be involved then we have some great opportunities to get your hands dirty on a Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday!

We are looking for a volunteer(s) to help with the growing and care of our fruit and vegetables, whether you have no experience in gardening or are a keen gardener. If you are interested we think you will need to:

Be happy to work on your own
Enjoy working outside
Be able to follow instructions
Work unsupervised
Tasks include weeding, watering, opening and closing growing spaces.

Painting Decorator Volunteer

Be part of the Team Painting and Decorator Have you a few hours a week spare and you would enjoy bringing part of our decorating team at Ashburnham Place?

We have a small team of dedicated volunteer decorators who have been responsible for most of the room refurbishments over the past four years who are looking to expand their numbers. You would be working as part of a small team headed up by an experienced professional. No previous experience is necessary, as full training and supervision would be given.

Job Role Description: To provide administrative support to Hannah and Aydee Latty, the Resource Directors and team where needed. Email correspondence is our biggest administrational need.

You will need to be able to do basic administration, be familiar with email and be able to communicate and coordinate others effectively. You will need to be prepared to learn how to use Doodle Polls, Whatsapp, Google Documents
