Catalyst Programme Supervisor

We are looking for a person with excellent administration skills and a passion for pastoral work with young adults on our new international volunteer training programme, Catalyst. The right person will work in a support role to the Catalyst Programme Manager and the Catalyst volunteer community. The Catalyst volunteer members are made up from 55 - 60 young people who come from all over the world for up to one year to serve within the house, maintenance and grounds teams of Ashburnham Place. Volunteers also receive regular teaching sessions and may opt into extra community activities.


The role will require a good communicator with a strong focus and resilient nature. The applicant must have an understanding of and be experienced in dealing with a range of challenges and support needs that may arise working with a group of 18 - 27 year olds living in community. The Catalyst programme is currently in its first year and thus the applicant should have a willingness to play a part in developing the course alongside the team with a positive and creative outlook to any issues that might arise.

Kitchen Garden Volunteer

If you love being in the walled Kitchen Garden at Ashburnham Place and would like to be involved then we have some great opportunities to get your hands dirty on a Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday!

We are looking for a volunteer(s) to help with the growing and care of our fruit and vegetables, whether you have no experience in gardening or are a keen gardener. If you are interested we think you will need to:

Be happy to work on your own
Enjoy working outside
Be able to follow instructions
Work unsupervised
Tasks include weeding, watering, opening and closing growing spaces.

Painting Decorator Volunteer

Be part of the Team Painting and Decorator Have you a few hours a week spare and you would enjoy bringing part of our decorating team at Ashburnham Place?

We have a small team of dedicated volunteer decorators who have been responsible for most of the room refurbishments over the past four years who are looking to expand their numbers. You would be working as part of a small team headed up by an experienced professional. No previous experience is necessary, as full training and supervision would be given.

This is a voluntary position however, we would be able to cover reasonable travel expenses and provide a cooked lunch with the wider Ashburnham community.

Job Role Description: To provide administrative support to Hannah and Aydee Latty, the Resource Directors and team where needed. Email correspondence is our biggest administrational need.


You will need to be able to do basic administration, be familiar with email and be able to communicate and coordinate others effectively. You will need to be prepared to learn how to use Doodle Polls, Whatsapp, Google Documents

Salary: This is a voluntary role


Hours: 16 hours a week (flexible hours)
