What were about

Our Camping Policy

Our approach to camping is that of co-existing with the natural environment and enjoying the freedom and space of outdoor living.  Ashburnham Place is designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest and, as such, has a rich diversity of flora and fauna to enjoy, but please tread lightly as you go.

To facilitate this we ask that you observe the following:

1. Due to the sensitive natural environment, we operate a strict no pets policy.

2. We offer a family-friendly, relaxed, peaceful campsite. So we ask you to be mindful of the needs of others and to keep noise level down after 10 pm.

3. We want to encourage singing and acoustic music around the campfire, but please no amplified music.

4. The lakes are for your enjoyment, but fishing is prohibited as it is leased to a third party.

5. For your safety and that of the aquatic life on the site, boating and swimming are only permissible within the defined areas.

6. Waste and recycling points will be available at all of the sites.  Please take excess general waste home with you.

7. On your departure, please leave your pitch as you would like to have found it.

8. We’re offering camping, so please no sneaking into the main house complex, as its let to residential groups.

If you like the sound of this, we look forward to welcoming you.  Oh, please remember to bring your torches!

Covid 19 Information

Unless the Government guidance changes we are looking forward to welcoming campers to our site from the 25th July 2020.

In the event that we have to close the site, a full refund will be given.

The costs associated with running the campsite mean that in the event of a cancellation, we are not able to offer a refund but will do our best to reschedule your booking.

Our absolute priority at Ashburnham Place is the health of our campers, and our dedicated campsite team. It’s important that we all work together to keep everyone safe and well.  To help facilitate this:

  • Contactless check in –When you arrive on site, you can remain inside your vehicle and a member of our site staff will welcome you and show you the pitch’s available.
  • To enable better social distancing, our family camping pitches have been enlarged to a 10m x 8m area, with a 6 metre gap between each pitch.
  • All facilities are outdoors. All shower and toilets facilities are individual self contained units.  Each unit will have 2 deep cleans a day.
  • Campers are encouraged to bring their own toilet tent with them on their allocated pitch.
  • Our washing up areas are outdoors, so that social distancing is easier to achieve.
  • Whilst we will have this available on site, we’d ask campers to bring their own supplies of soap and hand sanitiser.

Our church weekend was the best we have had for years. The location, the facilities and the staff were outstanding. We can't wait to come back next year.
