In addition to exploring the grounds of Ashburnham Place, with its secret grotto, walled garden and Grecian style ‘Look Out’, there is a network of woodland and lakeside paths to be enjoyed.
Guests can enjoy a leisurely family cycle around Broad Water Lake. Please be aware the path is shared with walkers. We do not offer a cycle track or mountain biking.
Within a designated area on Broad Water Lake, swimming is available, for an extra charge. Guests will be required to book swimming slots at camp reception and swim in accordance with the site’s swimming policy, a copy of which can be emailed. This activity will be lifeguarded.
It will be the responsibility of all swimmers to ensure social distancing is observed. To assist this, the number of swimmers at any one time will be restricted.
Swimming in the lake is very popular with guests, especially on hotter days. We appreciate that restricting numbers will place more demand on this popular activity. In an attempt to reduce pressure, at peak times we will be restricting swimmers to a single forty-five-minute session per day.
Please bring your non-motorised craft for boating on Broad Water Lake. There is a launching fee per day for this activity, which can either be arranged at the camp reception or booked in advance online. All boating must be conducted in accordance with the site’s boating policy, a copy of which can be emailed.
