Set within 220 acres of privately owned Capability Brown landscaped grounds and gardens, Ashburnham Place offers a rare camping experience.  Enjoy catching up with family and friends, walking the beautiful grounds or simply finding a quiet spot to enjoy the peace and tranquillity.

Camping Options Include

South Lawn

The largest of our camping areas, South Lawn enjoys unrivalled south-facing views over the largest of three lakes and is easily accessible for swimming, boating and other activities.

There are portaloos, washing up sinks and hired-in shower blocks for use of those camping in this area. To book online, click below to go to the Pitchup site.

The Grove

We are offering The Grove as an exclusive use site. The Grove is a small grassy glade surrounded by mature broadleaf woodland, making it an ideal space for family and friends to gather and still be able to social distance. There is a compostable toilet and showers are bookable with Camp Reception, and a 5-minute walk away.

In addition to exploring the grounds of Ashburnham Place, with its secret grotto, walled garden and Grecian style ‘Look Out’, there is a network of woodland and lakeside paths to be enjoyed. We take view that camping is a time to slow down, relax and immerse yourself in nature. Whilst you’re with us why not try the following:

Pricing for Camping

Families and individual campers welcome.  Groups by prior agreement only.  Minimum two-night stay.

Arrival time: 2 pm – 5 pm
Departure time: 8 am – 12 pm 

South Lawn
Standard Family Pitch 8m x 10m.  £25 All tents, including guy ropes must remain within the 8m x 10m pitch.
Small pitch 6m x 6m.  £20 per night.  We have a limited number of smaller pitches in a semi-woodland setting, suitable for a single person or couple.

The Grove
Exclusive use site, up to a maximum of 30 people. £125/night.  Minimum 2-night stay.  It will be the responsibility of the group organiser to ensure that social distancing measures are adhered to. There is sufficient space for a maximum of 7 family pitches (10m x 8m) at 6-metre spacing.

Adult £3.00 swim per day, subject to availability
Child £2.00 swim per day, subject to availability 

The lake is deep and shelving and, as such, not suitable for non-swimmers.

Boating
'Launching fee £10 per day payable online or at Camp Reception.(Life jackets must be worn at all times when on the water, regardless of age or swimming ability).’

Fire Pits
Hire from £10 per day. (This will include a fire pit, firelighter, kindling and logs for the evening). 

Wood
For those bringing their own fire pits, an evening’s supply of wood can be purchased for £5 (This will include firelighter, kindling and logs for the evening).
