So far this summer has bought many hours of glorious sunshine to Ashburnham Place and has meant that our visiting groups have been able to enjoy lake swimming, campfires and plenty of strolling around the grounds. Being based 15 minutes from what is fondly known as ‘The Sunshine Coast’ certainly seems to mean we get plenty of sun and warm weather through the year.
Changes continue apace; in the past month we have started an extensive redecoration of many of our bedrooms, this will then move on to some of our large meeting rooms. The walled garden has dramatically stepped up production of home grown fruit and vegetables which are now present in many of the new dishes prepared for guests.
In the coming month we will be upgrading the bedroom linen across all accommodation, we are confident this will enhance the experience of sleeping in an Ashburnham Place bed! You may also notice that our website has had a complete redesign which we hope makes it easy to use while providing all the information needed.
Alongside the website we are also excited to be launching the Ashburnham Place Podcast, which we have called IO podcast. The podcasts will help us capture some of the stories of the many fascinating people that pass through here during the years. In the first episode we hear from Theologian and social activist, Dr Marijke Hoek, to listen simply click here.
If you have any helpful reflections on any of the changes above, we’d love to hear from you.
Finally, we love welcoming groups but we are also privileged to provide hospitality to individuals who come throughout the year for rest and retreat. We have recently started providing individual guest meals in the stunning on-site Orangery Tea Room. This means individual guests can sit in peace looking out over the lawns and trees from the beautiful surroundings of a Capability Brown designed Orangery or, on warm days, can enjoy their breakfast out on the lawn listening to the birds and the nearby water fountain.
We do hope to see many of you soon.
