Continuous Prayer
You are welcome to join us at any time in our journey towards continuous prayer, either as a day visitor, or as a residential guest on a personal prayer retreat.
These hours are led by members of the Ashburnham team and take place in the Lower Meeting Room of the Prayer Centre. Guests are always welcome.
There is ample parking and day visitors are requested to sign in and out at Reception.

Introduction to Prayer at Ashburnham
For nearly 40 years the former stable buildings at Ashburnham Place have been a focus for people to gather and pray. Over the years this has taken different forms including a Cycle of Prayer in the 1970s, gatherings for prayer, and individuals staying and using the facilities for personal retreats.
At this time the Trustees and the team of volunteers and permanent staff at Ashburnham Place are responding to a call from God to create a place of led continuous prayer.
The Challenge
We believe that we are on a journey, which began in May 2008, to create a centre for 24 hour prayer, 6 days a week. We started with led prayer for 36 hours per week, this has now risen to over 100 hours. Outside of led prayer times, the Continuous Prayer Room is open and available for use by residential guests and the Ashburnham team.
The Programme
The pattern of prayer is varied in style and content; including times of worship, meditation and soaking. There is an emphasis on praying for the nations but we also regularly pray for East Sussex and the UK, breaking news and global issues.
The timetable is displayed on notice boards around Ashburnham Place or can be found by clicking on the links above. Please note there are sometimes unavoidable amendments.
We also have some special days of prayer focus such as a Day of Prayer for the Muslim World which takes place on the third Friday of each month.
The Team
The Prayer sessions are led by the Ashburnham staff and volunteer team. Each Prayer session will include a core group of staff members and volunteers who will have responsibility for that hour, and guests joining us.
Guests
Guests, whether staying in Ashburnham Place as an individual, as part of a group or from the local area are very welcome to join us on our journey towards continuous prayer.
Residential guests and day visitors are also welcome to use the smaller prayer rooms in the Prayer Centre, which are available on a first-come-first-served basis.
Please note:
We do not currently have facilities for prayer ministry or counselling for our guests.
